Thanks to Philosophy Guy for the intro this week.

I’ve officially found my new favourite city. Just the other day, I returned from a week-long vacation / business trip in beautiful San Antonio, Texas. Amazing weather, morbidly obese mall walkers, and 24/7 flowing drinks made this one of the best weeks I’ve ever had.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without my more-than-gracious hosts, Jennifer and Jackie from the Morning Brewcast. Thanks again to the San Antonio Podcasters for welcoming me with open arms!

But, I’m getting ahead of myself.

Listen to this episode of All Axis Radio to hear about my airline paranoia - yes, your boy Ajay’s got a little anxiety when it comes to barreling through the sky in a flying, explosive death trap.

Maybe one day, I’ll tell you why I’m horribly afraid of — yet oddly intrigued with — the story of La Llorona, and why I wanna go to Woman Hollering Creek next time I’m in town. I dismantle The Alamo with my logic-based theories, and verify the rumours. Yes - Texans love their sports teams.

Until next time, kids!

AAR #70 - Inconsistently Yours…

Feb-7-2008

Thanks to The Keeme for the intro this week.

There isn’t much to say about the show this week. The voicemail line is (206) 888-6509. The email addy is allaxisradio@gmail.com, and the allaxisradio@gmail.com, and the Facebook group can be found here.

Thanks to my inconsistency, the show’s taking a bit of a sharp left this time around. You all know me - sometimes I just need to vent. This is probably one of those episodes I won’t ever listen to again, but the music featured is great.

Mystic Village makes another appearance after being featured on AAR #55. This is a brand new track called Venwodkas. For more info, head over to paulbrownsound.com.

After a brief rant, Val Halla from Vancouver, Canada, makes their debut on the show with Chill. Thanks to Valarie for dropping some songs off!

Finally, after sealing the envelope, one of our old favourites, Parlour Steps, is back with Drunk On Ideals.

As always, any feedback is welcome. Until next time!

All Axis Radio #68 - … and we love you, too…

Jan-24-2008

Thanks to Jeff from Fat 2 Fit radio for the introduction today.

According to Jeff, I’m a retard. It’s actually a funny story, but you’ll have to listen to get the context. I can’t say he’s wrong, and I’m glad that he’s as much of an ass as I am.
Last week, I was in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do the whole “meet-up” thing, as my time was pretty limited, and I appreciated the company I had. Next time, maybe.

There’s a small collection of musical instruments that has been developing in the last few years. I’ve even got a small shelf that displays them in the living room. It’s not a huge collection, but every time I travel outside of Alberta, I add to it. It makes me happy, and gives me something to do. Don’t you dare judge me. The latest inclusion to the collection is a slide whistle. Listen to the show and be deafened with my overwhelming talent.

All of the music on today’s show is from a label called Paperbird Music, from my birth-town of St. Albert, Alberta. It’s a small label, but some of the music is definitely worth checking out.
In honour of our first St. Albert bands being played on the show, I thought that I’d fill you in on the goings-on in that city. Enjoy the headlines.

Until next time, I love you all deeply, and remember: “you can’t beat the Axis if you get VD.”

AAR #67 - Iron My Shirt

Jan-9-2008

Thanks to Dr. Kenneth… er… JC Hutchins for the intro today. For today is that day that we destroy, and rebuild… destroy, and rebuild…

No excuses, no complaints. We just get straight into the show this week. Old listeners, thank you. New listeners… what were you thinking?

There are a couple of live shows dangling out there somewhere, but you’ll probably never hear those - for good reason. There are more live shows coming in the future, though, so be sure to keep visiting All Axis Radio for updates.

I’ve realized that I’ve got a lot of issues. Not only do those issues engulf me in personal relationships, but they tend to hinder my advancement, as well. I’m sure it had nothing to do with my mother.

Despite the fact that I’ve forgotten absolutely everything from grade-six French class, I take a swing at pronouncing the first artist’s name. I think I did all right. The song, however, is fantastic. Corneille is nominated for a Juno award this year, and he’s my pick. Be sure to head over to Corneille’s web site for more details.

Mid-way through the show, I introduce the new co-host on All Axis - the faceless hole. Enjoy, kids! This is what you get. With that in mind, the morning radio medium is absolutely blowing up. I honestly thing there are great advancements being made in this media source, and it’s not stale at all. Thanks to Calgary’s Alternative Rock for the great audio. Aural hilarity always helps an old curmudgeon (take it easy, Chris) like me.

Be sure to check out Calgary’s own Hot Little Rocket - a great band that’s really earning their place in this scene. Plus, a band that our good friend T. Nile introduced me to - AA Sound System, from Edmonton.

If you’re going to be in Toronto for Podcamp next month, be sure to email me. I’d love to meet up with all of you.

After a brief interlude by Hillary, we’re ready to go.

Until next time!

- Ajay
